Patricia Farrelly, B.S., M.A.T- English Instructor

Patricia Farrelly grew up here in beautiful Charleston County and attended Clemson University right after graduating from high school. Upon the completion of undergraduate studies, she worked in banking and advertising. Farrelly’s passion evolved in teaching and in literature that ultimately compelled her to return to school to obtain a degree in teaching. She enrolled at The Citadel and while attending there worked in the writing center as a Graduate Assistant, co-authored a study skills manual, and helped to create a study skills program for Cadets. At this juncture is where her initial teaching career began as she used to teach study skills in small group sessions to Cadets as well. Farrelly’s first official teaching position was with Berkeley County School District. Over the years, She moved around for her husband's work and reared children, taught English, wrote, tutored, and volunteered time coaching sports at the local recreation center and serving as PTA President. Finally transitioning back to Charleston, South Carolina, she returned to teaching English full time. English Teacher Farrelly joined our Septima P. Clark Corporate Academy Family this past  August 2017 for the 2017-2018 Academic School Year. Currently, she teaches Senior Level English Courses. To her credit, On May 2, 2018, Farrelly was identified by Charleston County School District (CCSD) Personnel and received the You Rock Award, “In recognition of outstanding contributions to academic achievement and personal growth your induction year”.
