Mr. Earnest Houston, III, B.S., M.Ed. - Clark Academy's Assistant Program Director

Earnest Houston, III, was born in the State of Kentucky and is a native North Carolinian from Fayetteville, a city in Cumberland County, North Carolina, best known as the home of Fort Bragg, a major U.S. Army installation Northwest of the city. Assistant Principal Houston is originally from Fayetteville, N.C. where he played football and wrestled for Douglas Byrd High School before graduating in 1998. He was drawn to the Lowcountry by football and played at Charleston Southern University from 1998-2002 leading effectively as Team Captain during his Senior Year.Houston started his first job out of college beginning his educational career at Wando High School as a Student Concern Specialist. After two years of service there he transitioned to Communities in Schools, a program designed to support students in the successful completion of school staving off dropouts. There he took on the role of a Wise Guys Facilitator for Haut Gap Middle and St. Johns High Schools on Johns Island for four additional years. Mr. Houston joined Berkeley County School District (BCSD) becoming a History Teacher at Berkeley High School for eight years. He was also a member of Berkeley High School's Star Academy Program, an accelerated program that helps older eighth graders rise to the sophomore level. The program to its credit won the Silver Star Award for dropout prevention. While at Berkeley High School, he passionately coached varsity football and wrestling.Assistant Principal Houston is an alumnus of Charleston Southern University having earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Studies Education. Additionally, he continued his thirst for knowledge and matriculated at The Citadel College of Graduate and Professional Studies and received his Master of Education in Educational Leadership. Mr.  Houston joined The Septima P. Clark Corporate Academy Family and hit the ground running non-stop since January 2018.
